So I just finished my second class last Friday, so far my GPA is a 3.0. So I'll need an 'A' in my next class, which is baking. Which should be pleasant since I really like baking and I'd love the chance to work with chocolate more.

This week I'm on my spring break and it's been relaxing so far. I got my tax refund, and it was basically done when I finished paying all of my bills, and picking up stuff from school. I'm left with about 50 dollars to get gas and maybe a snack with. I can't wait until I finish this program. Being broke is sucking majorly right now.

I have been working on my Dragon(well re-working it) and Husky fursuit, since I have nothing else to do but play video games, work on fursuits, and draw. I've also had the opportunity to work on my poaching technique, I'm getting better with layering on flavors with delicious results. Mmmm, salmon.

Next week I'll probably spend most of my time after school in the career office checking out the potential externships.

Muscle Suit Tut

Today, I started on my digitigrade suit for Russ the 'Code Red' Malamute(he finally has a name). I'll post some pictures later on when I'm completely done foaming it.

It's that time again, I only have 2 weeks of school left. *dances* I just finished and emailed my documentation project to my Basic Fabrication teacher. On Wednesday I have to see my teacher to turn in my power supply. I'm so happy I'm done with this and it works perfectly, I ran a radio off of it and I didn't experience any sparking, smoking, or anything shorting out, unlike some of my classmates. After this I only have one more final left and I won't be taking that until June 4th, I believe. I've already registered for the summer session and fall semester and I was able to get into the math class I needed, which is good. Hopefully I won't have too many problems with my financial aid next semester.

I received the material for my eyes and some sewing machine needles strong enough to take on faux fur and leather so I should be working on my husky body soon, that is as soon as I figure out how to use my sewing machine, tips or informational sites would be well appreciated if anyone knows any. Oh and I visited LA's Fashion District a couple of days ago, we found the street where there was a ton of fabric, hopefully I can get Paws to take me when I get paid next week.

I'm also redoing my design for code red, I want to incorporate black in the suit somewhere. I ordered some swatches for the black fur but Denver Fabrics messed up and sent me someone else's order. Of course I need to pick up some thread for my sewing machine.

I've been meaning to take pictures for a while now, so here they are. I made my tail and finished furring the head. I still need to take pictures of the feet and hand paws. I'll be working on digitigrade padding for my body suit and my eyes as soon as I get a hold of some white buckram/chiffon. I'm not sure if this suit will ever debut anywhere(aside from running around the house). The more I see it the more I think "I can do much better than that." It makes me want to get started on the snarly Houndour suit I plan on making after I make my toony husky for FC. In the morning I shall go get some human and animal anatomy books.

Califur was awesome experience. The only regret that I have is that I couldn't finish my suit in time. I basically have a partial suit, I still need to fur the feet, bake the claws for my hand paws, and make the eyes for my head. I'm still debating whether I'm going to make it a 3/4 partial or a full suit. I'll take more pictures as soon as can get a hold of a camera. I'll be starting Code Red's head next month next month. Anyway, I pre-registered for Califur 4 already and I'm also planning to go to FC, and I'll definitely be suiting for FC. This was an awesome first con.

Since Califur is comming up so quickly, I thought I should post more pictures. I'm going to start on furring the feet, making the other hand paw, and tail with in the next day. I'm going to start on the body next week. I also need to decide on what shape I want it's eyes to be. So yeah, here's my progress so far.

*sighs* It never fails, usually once a semester something comes up to possibly screw me over in one way or another. I just found out yesterday that the admins didn't register me for the right art class. I've been on the instructor's role sheet from the beginning of the semester until this week. My name mysteriously disappears from the roster. Which is irritating but not the end of the world, this was just a filler class, so academically I'm not hurting though I did need the units. I'll have to make them up during summer school. It looks like I'll have to go to UCLA for the summer, I just need to find out how to get there. I should be able to get a good amount of work done on my fursuit done next week, then I have Mid-terms two days before Califur. Califur is going to be the break I needed. I'll also be working on building my power supply, I still need some parts. I got my circuit board etched so that's going well so far. Now off to Wal*mart.

I just started furring my suit head. So far I've cut out the pieces and pinned them on my head. I still need to figure out how to make the fur on his nose lie down flat. I figured out how to hide the more obvious seem on it's snout. I think it looks good so far, I'll be attaching fur to the head sometime next week, I'll take more pictures then. In other news I've been on Spring Break all this week. It was so awesome! I got to sleep to 11 in the morning. I've been working on my assignments that I've been given for the break. Well it's back to work with school and *sighs* Wal*Mart. I've also been applying for another job, I need another job, Wal*mart isn't cutting it for me. They also offered me a promotion, to Customer Service Manager, they seemed offened when I turned it down. That job would take all of my attention, and it's very stressful. I've seen my other peers at work who have that title. They seemed very over-worked and I really don't want to become more involved out our customers. That and I'm in school, and taking that job would mean less time to study, which is the total opposite of what I want to do. I want to hurry up and finish school and graduate and get a job that earns a lot more than a Customer Service Manager and hopefully it'll be a lot less stressful.

It's been a while since I posted any pictures of my Dragon suit. So far I painted the horns yellow and added some detail to the mouth. I'm getting ready to fur it, all I have to do is take off the tape, lay it down, and cut out the fur. I still need to make my duct tape dummy, and I have a lot of time to do it since I'm on spring break. Nothing much has been happening lately, I got the fur for my fursuit today and for my Code Red husky. I still need to name him, I suck at names. I plan on start to fur my head either this or next week. I also need to get some high-density for the legs and chest padding. I can't wait until I get done. School is going well, I'm forcing myself not to procrastinate. Not much else to report on aside from me being psyched about Califur.

I finally got around to coloring Code Red and I found some nice material to make him out of, so the project is still on. I still plan on making Pitch Black husky in the future. School is also going well, I'm taking an art class, hoping to improve on my hands/hand-paws. I just recieved my eyes for my Goraspi dragon suit. I'll post pictures as soon as I set the eyes. Nothing much is happening, I've been working at Wal-mart, which is unpleasant, but ok for the moment. I can't wait until I finish school. I've been working on some art stuff as well as my fursuit head, I'm almost ready to fur it. I'm considering getting a 'suit commissioned from Mixed Candy of my new character Bakyo. I've been saving money for it so I'll ba able to pay for it in one lump sum and I don't plan to actually have it commissioned until next year, so I have lots of time. I'm also ready to for my spring semester now, I'm tired of sitting around the house. So here's some pictures of my fursuit head and scans of some of the art I've been working on.

I'm still debating on how should I attach the fur on the head and whether or not I should fur the ears then attach them or keep them attached, same question for the lower jaw.

Fur colors:
The suit would probably be realistic or semi-realistic. (any opinions?) The main coat color would be black or white(I'm undecided), I'm not sure about his facial markings or secondary coat color yet(I'm up for suggestions).

I would want to use Distinctive Fabric's Burgundy Snake Skin Vinyl, because not only do I like the look, the texture of the fabric is cool. I hope they get more in stock as they only have the brown now, I can't find that I'll use the PVC Snake Skin Fabric, though I don't really like the inconsistant coloring.
